Title: The Unravelling of Lady Fury
Author: Shehanne Moore
Genre: Historical romance
Lady Fury needs to provide an heir in order to keep up the estate of her dead husband. Along comes Captain Flint Blackmoore, a man from her murky past, who, once upon a time, ditched her on the docks before he lost his ship. Without any other viable option in sight, Lady Fury decides to make a deal with him to achieve her goal.
Lady Fury is a feisty, sassy, strong character, who knows how to handle herself, and is quick to impose βrulesβ on the dangerously charming Flint, which creates a uniquely compelling (and sometimes completely hilarious) set of consequences. The chemistry between these two central characters is excellent, creating a high-stakes, plot-driven romance that immerses you from beginning to end.
There are many twists and turns along the way as Lady Fury strives to secure an heir, and Moore is able to create suspense, as well as emotion, throughout the story. The verbal sparring between these two characters is most entertaining, and I found that Lady Fury herself was a character that I could root for from start to finish.
All in all, I would recommend this novel to those who enjoy a high-stakes romance, with engaging characters, and plenty of twists and turns to keep you reading well into the small hours. I was completely hooked and will definitely read another book by this author again. Highly recommended!
