I’m excited to launch my new Beta Reading Service!
Having worked across many different aspects of publishing, from developmental editing to authorship, I now offer a beta reader and review service to authors. As a fellow author, I will give you the feedback I would want myself.
I’ll help improve your writing by catching the things it’s all too easy for authors to miss, giving valuable, objective feedback on the road to publication (for example, finding any plot holes, examining the relatability of characters, locating inconsistencies in the narrative, etc.).
What truly sets my service apart from other beta readers is that when your book is published, I will review it on introvertedbookworm.com and across my social media channels, including TikTok/Booktok.
I am passionate about supporting writers on their journey to publication. Writing and marketing is hard work. Together we can get your book off to the best possible start!
Details of the Beta Reader service I will provide are as follows:
- I will write up a minimum 500-word page report on your manuscript, giving feedback from a reader’s perspective, but also with the keen eye of a professional developmental editor.
- In the report I will answer questions like:
- What’s my overall opinion of this chapter?
- What did I think of the characters?
- Was there any parts that were confusing or unnecessary?
- Does the climax of the book feel climactic?
- Provide any feedback on steamy scenes/emotional turning points.
- I will usually get the feedback back to you within a week, but this may vary if the book is of considerable length.
- Feedback will be given on a chapter-by-chapter basis. I’m happy to clarify any points raised you might want further information on.
Details of the Book Review include:
- Upon publication of your book, I will review it on my site introvertedbookwork.com (with a review of around 300 words) in length.
- This review will include a “killer quote,” which can be used in promoting your book.
- I will post the review through all my normal social media channels, including TikTok / Booktok and Facebook.
- This will include targeted Facebook groups specific to the genre of book you have written.
- You will be able to use the short clip I create for TikTok on your own social media.
The price of this service is dependent upon the length of the book as follows:
- Up to 60,000 words: £90 / $120
- Between 60-80,000 words: £120 / $160
- Over 80,000 words: POA
